The Oldest Public Market in Atlanta
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MARKET IS CLOSED BOTH THANKSGIVING DAY AND THE FRIDAY AFTER. (NOV 28TH AND 29TH)
LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF EDGEWOOD AND JESSIE HILL, the market first opened in 1918. Later in 1924, the building was constructed and still stands in the original location.
Originally known as the Municipal Market, it has operated under the name Sweet Auburn Curb Market for the past two decades, which is still alive and well inside the recently restored building, where the original sign is displayed.
